In preparation for this image, I used purple felt tip pen to further highlight the writing on the love heart sweet, blue tack to hold the sweets in place, and a plain white board to arrange the composition on. I experimented with position; both angle of camera and also the arrangement of the pack versus the sweets. Many of the first attempts seemed non-engaging, however, a low angle seemed make the image a lot more interesting, as did top lighting, in fact the lighting was directed down and at the front of the image to ensure the text “HELLO” on the sweet was the main point of interest.
