Projects & Ideas > Shutter Speeds and Depth of Field > Shutter speed – fast

The image itself captures four drops of water, one is not visible, it has already made contact with the water and started to create a ripple, the other three drops are at varying heights following, and looking closely into the largest drip, the reflection of the baking tray and work surface are visible. To achieve this image I used a tripod, cable release and set the camera to continuous and locked the shutter button to ‘on’ whilst dripping water via a syringe into the tray. This was a process of persistence and to get to the final image approximately 300 exposures were disregarded.
