Large depth of field, 2 sec, f22, tripod, torch

I thought the image; pencils set point-to-point in star formation would give an interesting composition and would demonstrate large depth of field ideally. Pencils as a subject were chosen because they have hard edges, and it is clear when they are in sharp focus, and the result is sharp focus in all aspects of the image. In order to ensure that the image retained interest, I wanted to see the ends of the closest pencils; I also wanted the pencils in the background and to sides to disappear off the image. I changed the camera angle to add further interest, so it is set off the horizontal. Then, as an experiment, I set the exposure to 2 seconds, and after firing the shutter I very briefly illuminated the centre of the subject area with a torch to try and make it look as though it was shining from the middle. The result is a purposeful overexposed part of the image to the centre, well, almost centre, I found it difficult to get my aim to the dead centre, however, I liked the resulting image.
